Anyone catch the article on TSN with Bryz talking about how he believes some Russian players may not return to the NHL after the lockout ends? Sorry I don't know how to post a link on here.

One could only hope.

He's not doing a lot of playing, and we know his mind wanders when that happens.

Ovechkin said the same things a while back. I imagine there would be players that would stay, but contractual issues could make it interesting.

I'm not worried about bryzgalov stupid obvious comments. Russian players might stay in Russia. Duh.

If he is not good enough to be the starter on his khl team,I hope he stays in Russia.

Nick Cousins is holding his own in the early going on the OHL season. 2nd in scoring to Boone Jenner of Oshawa (Blue Jackets pick)

Bryzgalov also said that he, himself, was not interested in staying in Russia after the lockout ends. One big hurdle to players staying in Russia immediately is, that the 2014 Olympics are in Sochi. If the lockout ends and guys stay in the KHL, despite valid NHL deals, the IIHF will bar them from international play....which means no suiting up for the national team in the Olympics held in their homeland.

There was some talk about NHLers staying home during the last lockout, with the fear that the NHL teams couldn't match the dollars tossed at players by teams in the native lands, run by rich entities with a salary cap.

I doubt we'd see a ton of players stay immediately, but if the IIHF decides to soften it's stance on inter league movement, or if there's significant rollback in salaries and guys can stay home and make a ton of cash, they may well see guys decide to not venture into North America.

Yeah, I see great things with Michael Leighton or Niko Hoivinen as the Flyers goalie.

Most likely, would be a better shot at drafting Nathan MacKinnon.

I'm not worried about stupid comments about bryzgalovs stupid comments. nor if he can fly across the ocean to Russia hop on a team that's been practicing/playing together for over a month and instantly become the starter.

I just wish that bryzgalov would shut his mouth and worry about being the best goalie he can be. He showed us a bit of it towards the end of last season before the injury. I want it for the remainder of the contract. If he can play that way I may live to see a cup even without Pronger, Carle and Weber.

Im paying more attention to the progress of Connor Mcdavid. 9 pts in 7 games already at 15 years old. Kids gonna be unreal.

If he plays well I could care less.

However his relationship with the media leaves a lot to be desired. What kind of effect did he think these comments would have? Especially after his inconsistent season last year. Learn to keep your mouth shut. The fact is I think most people really dont care what he says in interviews. You would just think he learned last season....

Rediculous already. Its turning into a circus show.

You have 3 years before he can be drafted, you can do that and watch those who will be a member of the 2013 draft class.

Kids so money that Im already watching him. He could be better than Crosby.

If the Oilers draft high again this year, I hope they can get Barkov or Seth Jones.

In reality nothing.

However after all of last years BS you would assume he would keep his mouth shut. Keep a low profile and just focus on playing well.

His cried to a russian paper about how what he experienced last season in philly he wouldnt wish on his worst enemy. Are these comments going to help that? Or do they have a chance to make it worse.

He needs a PR guy.

If there is no season I would rather just have a lottery.

Although you just know the top pick will go to someone like Phoenix or Columbus.

I won't go that far yet, he is only 15. His start is fantastic but for now I'll keep an eye on how he is doing.

For the Oilers Jones might be the better way to go they have a ton young forwards already, need to get something on defense.
